Scholarship Form
The Big Island Association of Nurserymen (BIAN) is awarding an annual scholarship of $1,000 to a student in Tropical Horticulture at the UHH College of Agriculture. The scholarship is intended to foster academic growth in the field of Tropical Horticulture. The money will be designated as $500.00 per semester.
Applications should be sent to BIAN, P.O. Box 4365, Hilo, HI 96720 no later than June 30th.
- Eligibility Criteria
- 1) Fulltime student at UHH.
- 2) Declared Major in Tropical Horticulture
- 3) G.P.A. from the previous school year must be 2.5 or above.
- Selection Procedure
- 1) The Big Island Association of Nurserymen along with members of the UHH Horticulture Department will evaluate the applications.
- Details to be submitted:
- A. Application Form printed, completed and faxed or this form filled out and submitted electronically.
- B. Essay
- C. Two forms of recommendation by a current/former employer or professor.
- D. Interview of top applicants by the committee.
- 2) Preference will be given to graduates from high schools in the State of Hawaii, although all applicants will be considered.
